How is MAT Administered?
The MAT Treatment consists of five steps.
• Step 1-Range of Motion Exam Evaluate the range of motion for all joints in various positions. If there is a limitation in range of motion or if asymmetrical motion is present we proceed to the next step.
• Step 2-Isolated Strength Test Place the body in specific positions of emphasis to test the strength of individual muscles. If a muscle tested does not respond we proceed to the next step.
• Step 3-Reactivation Provide precision manual therapy to reactivate the muscle. This is performed by applying precise pressure to the specific site(s) where the muscle attaches to the bone.
• Step 4-Re-Evaluate Strength Test Assess the strength in the muscle that we just treated.
• Step 5-Re-Evaluate Range of Motion Assess changes in range of motion. Our goal is to gain range of motion and stability through that range. The treatment is performed on a massage table. The client’s shoes are removed during treatment. Clients should be dressed in comfortable clothes. Please no jeans or heavy material clothing, jewelry or hats.
